You see those green semicircles in the center of the photo? Those are created by using a dye and applying a plastic prism to the eye. You then adjust a knob that applies more or less pressure against the cornea. When the pressure is equalized, the semicircles should be aligned as you see... just overlapping... but it is slightly subjective.
